Dubai in February is a very nice time of the year to be there….it’s of course famed for its amazing buildings, shopping and financial services.   The medical expertise here in ophthalmology is also very high.  Our meeting was held at the Conrad Hotel in downtown, new Dubai….

and this was the view from my very dusty hotel window on the 29th floor of the Conrad….construction cranes are every where and the city is booming….

Dubai is a fascinating place….full of amazing gleaming buildings….apartments….colourful markets and birding! The Ras AL khor Wetlands is a great resource just 20min from downtown Dubai. Do yourself a favour and hire the taxi for 3 hours…250 dirhams ..he’ll wait for you and drive you between the hides which are far apart…it is not easy hailing a taxi from Ras al Khor….
