Svalbard (5) : More Polar bear sightings….

After the relief of finding our first polar bear, we then saw another two more in somewhat different scenarios in the next few days….

Bear in the water from afar!
You wouldn’t have thought that a huge bear could swim that well in a freezing sea…
but he had spotted a seal hiding behind an iceberg
Now where are you?? Partial view of Seal to the left…
He swam round the back but alas the seal saw him and disappeared into the water…failed hunt
Coming up for a rest…
Magnificent male polar bear..much bigger than the female from the day before
Here we go swimming again
they go very fast!
and up again
a fulmar passing by
and another swim

these were our two best sightings of polar bears….just magical to see them in their natural habitat
