Singapore is a tiny city state, largely built up and teeming with people…not a place you’d associate with exotic fauna..but in truth, if you know where to go, there is a microcosm of beautiful wild life in the forests. We explored the trails in Rifle Range Road last night…..and the first interesting thing we saw was this beautiful long horned beetle…very shy though.
And then it was the spectacular tiger beetle which seemed to love posing..
And then the piece de resistance…the malayan Banded coral snake made an appearance…
Beauutifully coloured orange red and grey on top, bright pale yellow stripes below….
This rare elapiid is venomous and is from the same family as the Blue coral snake I posted on in an earlier post.
We also saw a few nice spiders and frogs…
All in all…a most fruitful few hours in a Singapore forest…singapore is not just shopping, restaurants and buildings!
hey these are really cool shots! Which forest was this?
Rifle range link forest…
Good readiing this post
