This day was a mix of boat safari and trekking in a forest……

Our last boat safari…
distant view of green ibises
Horned screamer
roadside hawk
white winged swallows
the beautiful sun bittern then made an appearance
this time we sort of managed to shoot the beautiful wing pattern in flight
collared hawk
we stopped off and did a forest walk with our guide….
on the forest trail, we found the beautiful green backed trogon

and then on the river once more, the bizarre Hoatzin looking every inch a prehistoric creature appeared
canaries
palm tanager
yellow tufted woodpecker..spectacular

And back in our resort, we saw a few other interesting birds….

peruvian warbling antbird
spotted tody flycatcher
Olive manakin
Long billed woodcreeper
Leaden antwren
leaden antwren

Tufted antshrike
female tufted antshrike with typical brown crest

Cinnamon Attila

So our third Amazonian adventure came to a close …the birds as ever were spectacular….we closed the year having done safaris in Borneo and the Amazon with an Indian safari to come in Kabini and a south African one in February.
