In Vienna for our annual meeting, my hotel was right opposite the Stadtpark which also allowed an hour long ramble at 630am…..Surrounded by roads and tramlines, I had my doubts about the avian life there….

Stadtpark at 630 in the morning as the sky lightened
Floral clock
There is a pretty lake in the middle where the mallards were
Some great tits were busy in the trees
female blackbird
Apart from the birds, there are several statues dedicated to the musical geniuses who have so blessed us…here is Johann Strauss
Schubert…
charming male chaffinch ..always a welcome sight
male and female chaffinch in background
? Song thrush posing
and just before leaving, the beautifully presented statue of Franz Lehar…

So a rather small park but being in the city centre, a most welcome oasis amongst the buildings for an early morning walk.
